Explanation of ISO7841
The ISO7841x device is a high-performance four channel digital isolator with an isolation voltage of 8000VPK. This device has passed enhanced isolation certification in accordance with VDE, CSA, CQC, and TUV standards. When isolating complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) or low-voltage complementary metal oxide semiconductor (LVCMOS) digital I/O, this isolator can provide high electromagnetic immunity and low radiation, while also possessing low power consumption characteristics. Each isolation channel has a logic input and output buffer separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulated barrier.
This device is equipped with enabling pins, which can be used to place corresponding outputs in high impedance states in multiple main drive applications, and can also be used to reduce power consumption. The ISO7841 device has 3 forward channels and 1 reverse channel. If input power or signal loss occurs, the ISO7841 device defaults to outputting a high level, while the ISO7841F device defaults to outputting a low level. When used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, this device helps to prevent noise currents from the data bus or other circuits from entering local grounding, which can interfere with or damage sensitive circuits. With innovative chip design and wiring technology, the Electromagnetic compatibility of ISO7841 devices has been significantly enhanced, ensuring that system level ESD, EFT and surge protection are provided and radiation standards are met.
The ISO7841 device adopts 16 pin SOIC wide body (DW) and ultra wide body (DWW) packaging.
